In 1965, Peter Boizot had a dream of bringing the spirit of Italian pizza to the UK. His travels around Italy and the flavours he experienced abroad inspired Peter and he returned to England with a pizza oven and a trained chef to open his first PizzaExpress restaurant in 1965. It was a simple idea but a radical one back in the swinging sixties!
 
Our restaurant at Oxford Castle is open 11.30am until late, Monday to Sunday. The restaurant’s chefs hand-make the food in front of the customers using fresh, good quality ingredients in the restaurant’s open kitchen.

The extensive menu has a range of authentic style pizzas, salads and pastas. Along with favourite signature dishes such as the Soho pizza with rocket, garlic and parmesan, customers can also choose from a number of seasonal additions from our evolving menu.
 
We can cater for large parties of up to 80 and offer private room hire. We are open for coffee from 10.30am.
